Game Parties

Test Drive Games doesn't currently have a store front. To some retail operations, that might be a major hindrance, but we wouldn't let that stop us from showing our games to the public! We decided to take an approach that's modeled loosely after Pampered Chef®. What could be more fun than a game party?

If you live in or near eastern Pennsylvania, you can give your friends the chance to learn exciting new board and card games by hosting a Test Drive Games game party. At the same time, you'll earn yourself a discount on your next purchase from Test Drive Games. Here are some questions and answers about our game parties.

How do the game parties work?

You host the party. In other words, you invite the guests, provide the location for the party and offer refreshments. Test Drive Games personnel will bring the games and describe them to your guests. We’ll teach everyone how to play the games that interest them most. There will also be a free drawing for a door prize.

If your guests find games that they like, they can order the games from us during the party. If you’d like, you can also let your guests order games for up to two weeks after the party is over. Payment is required at the time that the order is placed. Both you and the buyer will get a receipt for the payment.

One to two weeks after we've received all the orders from the party, Test Drive Games will deliver the games to you. (Some games may be special order. These might take a little longer to come in. We’ll deliver the special-order games to you as soon as we receive them.) You distribute the games to your guests.

What do I get for hosting a game party?

If your party generates at least $50 in sales, you get a $20 credit for any game we carry. In addition, the more your guests buy, the bigger your discount on your own purchases from the party—up to 30% off the total of your order.

That’s not all! If one of your guests later hosts a game party, at that time you’ll get 50% off any one game that we carry.

What else can you tell me about these game parties?

Test Drive Games doesn’t charge anything for demonstrating our games at a party. You pay for the refreshments and any other cost of hosting, just like you would for any other party you’d throw.

Most of our games are for four or five players. If possible, it's best to have one game per table. Keep this in mind as you plan the gaming space for the party. If you need an additional table or two or a few extra chairs in order to have enough gaming space, let us know—we may be able to help out.

We’d like guests to play through the entire game that they’re learning—we don’t just give them a taste of how a game works and then make them go on to something else. Most of our games take about an hour and a half to learn and to play, so we’ve found an ideal party length to be about four hours. It can go longer, of course, if you and your guests are willing. If you want to throw a shorter party, many of your guests will only be able to play one or two games.

While you’re making your invitations, understand that many people think of board games as something that only children do. Our games are different. They’re not difficult, but they’re designed to appeal to adults and children about 10 or more years old. You can tell your guests to bring the kids, but please make it clear to them that a Test Drive Games party is not a kids’ party, it’s a family party. We want your adult guests to experience our games along with the kids, as a family activity.
